A clamping element, with which parallel clamping forces can be produced outwardly and inwardly. The spindle drive allows very sensitive clamping and yet very high forces. The jaws are pivotable and have smooth, V-shaped, slotted surfaces. Parts to be machined can thus be clamped in the correct way, even if they are pressure-sensitive. The clamping vice lies in the same plane as the clamped part to be machined and therefore hardly impinges on the workspace. Each clampng vice clamps from zero to the maximum width. Its low weight makes work easier.
